In Fall 2023, the Executive Management Group (EMG) recognized the need for an enhanced budget review process that would involve input from all areas of the university to make recommendations to EMG for action.
A number of committees have been established and have been meeting regularly to carry out this work.
In September 2023, an ad hoc Financial Recovery Task Force was created to evaluate, prioritize and make recommendations to the university’s Executive Management Group (EMG) on initiatives to return the institution to financial sustainability.

Financial Recovery Task Force Terms of Reference
An Academic Sub-Committee was established to assist the Financial Recovery Task Force by advising with respect to options that may impact the academic mission of the university both positively and negatively. It will consider implications of any proposed initiative to both faculty and students as well as to the community.
Membership:
The Task Force presented 60 recommendations to EMG at the end of December 2023.
An initial core set of recommendations was identified for immediate management action by EMG.
Stemming from the Task Force recommendations, an Operations Review Group was enacted by EMG to review university operational structure, programs and priorities submissions from the Senior Management Group members and make recommendations to EMG. That process is ongoing.
