How Can Career Counselling help me?
Career Counselling is a confidential, in-depth service tailored to the individual client to help them navigate their education and career paths and address any career-related concerns. Licensed Career Counsellors with experience in helping students work through questions, obstacles and possibilities can help you make decisions related to your career plan.
Some Quick Facts...
This free service is offered year-round to active SMU students and to alumni of any program for three years post-graduation. If you have a non-student role at SMU you are not eligible.
- Take the time to get to know you in a confidential one-on-one setting
- Help you identify and reflect on emotions related to career-decision making
- Offer assessments and exercises to help you self-reflect on your personal identity and professional goals
- Guide you to consider new career possibilities and connect you with resources
- Support your decision-making and action steps

Go to Career360 and log in. In the main menu, click on Career Appointments, then Career Counselling. If you are booking for the very first time, select First Appointment. All returning clients select Returning Client. If there are no current spots available, please email cel@smu.ca.
