SMU Firewall Update Current

EIT is currently Upgrading the SMU Firewall Hardware, therefore all changes impacting the Firewall maybe delayed until after the new Hardware is installed. This will take approximately 2 weeks to complete.

Emergency Firewall Maintenance Scheduled

EIT needs to conduct emergency firewall maintenance. Work is planned between 12:30am and 6:00am on Saturday, November 29th. During this time internet access will be intermittent across campus with periods of complete loss of service.

Scheduled Maintenance - Banner Upgrade Concluded

Ellucian will be updating our PROD Banner environment with downtime starting at approximately, 4pm on Friday, November 21 and expected to end Saturday, November 22 at 4pm. During this time Banner admin forms, self-service and Activate will not be available.

Urgent System Maintenance Concluded

EIT is performing urgent system maintenance on Tuesday, Oct 14 between 4pm and 8pm which has the possibility to interrupt services hosted on campus. We do not anticipate an issue but do advise to plan your work around that time if possible.

EIT was experiencing issues with authenticating to MS Office, and Brightspace. The problem seems to be resolved at this time.

Wifi Network Upgrades Concluded

EIT will be performing campus WiFi network upgrades this week. You may encounter brief outages

Network Modernization Project Concluded

While no interruptions are expected, if you experience new disruptions with accessing services, please report them to the helpdesk

Scheduled Maintenance - Banner Upgrade Concluded

Please be advised that EIT will be performing an upgrade to our Banner system starting at 4pm, Friday, Nov 22nd. At that time, Banner Self Service, Admin Pages, Degree Works and Activate will not be available.
Banner and Activate will be accessible again, on Saturday, Nov 23rd at 5pm.

Brightspace will continue to work. Banner links will return an error until the maintenance is completed.

EIT Scheduled Maintenance of VPN - October 31 Concluded

EIT is performing system maintenance of the VPN from 7am to 8am on October 31.
VPN users may be disconnected during this time - simply reconnect to continue.

Microsoft Outlook Performance Issues Concluded

Microsoft Outlook is currently exhibiting performance issues with the Outlook client. Some users may notice Outlook using and increased amount of system resources, causing the client to freeze or crash. As of 1 pm ADT , Microsoft is working to resolve the issue.

UPDATE: Microsoft believes all issues have been resolved. Clients must restart their Outlook client to apply the required changes. Outlook web users should refresh their sessions. If that does not resolve the issue web uses clear their browser cache and refresh their Outlook on the web session.
